Hi,

I am using Revit Architecture 2012

I would like to show my slab thickenings as a dashed line, (preferably all edges, but any woul be bettter than what I have now!) and the boundary edges of the floor slab as a solid line.

In the attached model, there are several slabs of different heights, and  the slab edge shows up as a solid line on the slab at -165, and on the other slabs not at all.

When I add a visibility overide to slab edges, say dashed, it changes the visible one (on slab at -165) to dashed, and shows the boundary of the other slabs as dashed but doesn't make the slab edges visible on them.

I have tried using the "show hidden lines" tool on the view menu, but this makes no apparent difference.

What have I done wrong?

I have seen a lot of comments about changing the revit.ini file for slab edge visibility. Is this necessary in this version to achieve what I want?

I have to admit to being very wary of changing it, as the explanation here (http://revitclinic.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/05/deploying-revit-2012-with-a-customized-revitini-file.html Winking confused me.

Thanks for any help.

hi,

theres no attached model.

but in worst case scenario, i will choose to use linework(LW) instead of messing with the unknown (.ini)

You could not upload because file sizes are limited so you probably exceeded that limit.

Please read this subject in your HELP:

Showing Hidden Element Lines
