good day to all, with Revit 2013 or 2014 is there a way to copy a table from Word or Excel, and paste it into a drafting view in Revit. i have tried to do it like i copy text and paste it in a text block. Revit brought in the text, but none of the linework from a table in Word.

i know that this has been a wishlist item for Revit users for a long time.

A table in word or excel is not lines and text, it is created by the program.  As such, it can not be copied and pasted into a drafting view.  You can insert an image but that has a big imact on file size and performance.

If it is a schedule, there are now programs that do link between Revit and excel.  Search the archives here for posts on that.

You can always insert a CAD view into Revit where the CAD view is an excel file.

what i'm working with is a points list. and the engineer made it in word. i don't want to mess with autocad at all with this project. i don't like how it looks when it's imported. so i'm recreating the chart in the drafting view manually, what a pain in the neck.

You can cut and paste text from word to Revit.  ctrl-c / ctrl-v.

I did that but the line work from word dropped out. and the spacing was all messed up, so i'm just recreating it. haven't found a good work around that i like the appearance of yet.

Right - As I said, you CAN'T copy the table.  But you CAN copy/paste individual cell text.

I'm not a great typist so I prefer copy paste to assure I get it correct.
