Having a problem with using beam systems to create roof purlins on a rake. We inserted the beam system with rafters etc. as a flat plane and then rotated to roof pitch. This worked on several projects, but on the latest project with worksets it seems to be a drama.
When we insert beam system and then rotate it attaches itself to roof, beams and columns and either deletes them or rotates them. Have tried a few different ways of inserting, but all seam to do the same?
Can anyone help?

Why don't you draw the beam system on the correct plane to begin with?
How are you rotating it? The correct way would be to draw a reference plane parallel to the plane the system was created on, then use the edit workplane button and change the workplane for the beam system to the new reference plane. Then you just need to rotate the reference plane and the beam system will adjust to suit...
HTH.

Thanks Mr Spot!
A plethora of errors led to the problem, we had tried earlier to use the reference planes, but a user malfunction prevented that attempt working and led to further digression.
Two revit novices are not always better than one.
