Why do I keep getting this error "profile contains no loops" ?
Trying to build customs windows based off a real manufactuers CAD drawings. The profile is an outline of the CAD detail.
Are my lines "too small" for REVIT? I read anything less then 5mm is too small for REVIT. (I don't undersrtand that) If I am forced to draw lines that large there is almost no point in trying to detail a window family with symbolic lines for the interior structure of the window frame. I'm already simplifying the profile and the CAD detial will no longer match if I try to turn it into symbolic lines.
How can I test it is a loop before I load it to try and make a sweep? I know the -hover-tab-click thing,
from this test the profile looks fine.
I've been trying to build custom window for a week! Now I'm just trying to fudge it. curse this program is hard to learn and use.

make all coners with round to sharp fillet. then you can use it for sweep profile.
it's no harm for 3d views or elevations because it's very small detail.
and make detail component family with original dwg, load it for section view..if you really need large scale section detail..
watch this for ref.

Did you trace CAD? If so, then that is your problem. CAD is not accurate in the same way that REVIT is.
Remove all the radius elements and add new fillet arcs. Trim/extend to corner all straight line junctions.

Hi Guys
Thanks for replies.
Sorry for the bad mood when I started the thread.
I did trace a CAD drawing. Well I drew REVIT lines with the pic line tool. I did use the trim for alot of the corners, the radius corners REVIT would let me "pick" I did so. I'll try re-making these with your suggestion.
So there is no issue with making lines as small as I want? In theory anyway? As long as I do it properly?
Thanks

No - there is still a limit on size. Realistically, you don't need these tiny radii for modeled sweeps. Details at larger scales are different. I never keep these.
