Hello!
I am relatively new to Revit - working on a residential cost estimating project for interiors. I am currently having difficulties finding the best or correct practice for applying and scheduling the interior wall finish.
I have complex walls for the building with 5 layers and then the interior finish. I would like to schudule ONLY the interior finish. I currently applied paint to the walls and on my wall schedule I created a filter to only show those walls with paint applied. I thought this would be the solution but it's still a little tricky indicating the location of the paint when you have paint on both sides of an interior wall.
I know there are multiple ways to apply finish material on a wall. What is the cleanest, easiest, best way to do it?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I would love to hear how you deal with your finish material on walls that you can put into a schedule.
Thanks so much!

paint tool doesn't affect any real information, it's just for visualizing.
only materials in structure of walls do.
so, apply one material just for interior to the interior finish layer of structure of walls. and make Material Take off.
the you will get what you want.

dingohut,
You are incorrect. Paint is not just for visualization! It changes the material in the project and will schedule under material takeoff. It will not change how, say a wall element, will show in section view.
Note that in a material takeoff, you can show if the material was painted or not.
