Hi,
I had an odd question...The line weights that are set within Revit, are these set to the standard line weights that you would use in autoCAD and when drawing on the board?
I assumed they would be, as there is a drafting standard for things in section, elevation etc. but I wanted to be sure.
Also, these lineweights...are they aready set within existing Revit families to reflect lineweights?
Hope this makes sense? :S
I basically want to ensure that what the out of the box Revit gives us the same line weights we would use should we be drawing in AutoCAD or by hand...so that it is universal across all 3.

Your HELP is the best place to start with your questions. Searching lines and you come up with: Start by reading that

I've looked here already. I know how to amend/add linweights and create new line styles etc but I was more looking for reassurance as to whether the draughting standards of lineweights are used correctly in Revit.
I have been put the question to ensure all imported families etc show the correct lineweights in various plans/sections etc.

First - Revit is NOT CAD. In order to be successful at Revit, you need to quit thinking CAD. Second : you said "... draughting standards of lineweights are used correctly in Revit..." What standards? Again, Revit is not CAD. You don't understand how Revit manages lines and you need to do that. REVIT is way smarter than CAD because it understands that printed lineweights need to change withg the scale of the view. That was clearly stated in the section of the HELP I pointed you to: "Line weight is dependent on the scale of the view."
Those lineweight scale changes are set under the manage tab/lineweights where you will see a chart similar to what I have posted. You can read about that as well in your HELP.
Everything in Revit is controlled through object style. Base lineweights, color, linetypes for all alement types. That is The base settings for lineweights which change per scale as set above. Read the following:
