I have been using the common linework work around for years now. I am hoping there is something better out there that I do not know about in Revit 2013/2014. I like to halftone my cut wall lines in RCP plans. The problem is random whenever I print (and on screen) where the half tone line cancels out the thicker black ceiling edge line object style or VGOveride that I apply to my ceilings. I know there is not a "draw order" feature or option for these views so what have all of you been doing to combat this issue? I am hoping I have overlooked a built in feature or setting that fixes this. There does not seem to be a rhyme or reason to how it shows/prints. 2 sides of a ceiling can be correctly shown as the thick darker line but the opther 2 will be thin and halftoned. Sometimes its 1 line looks right and the other 3 are thin.
any help would be appreciated,
J

Why not just set your ceiling view templates VG to show walls as you want them? Forget the linework tool here.

Please see attached images. The templates already are set to show the way I want them. There isnt a draw order setting though that I am aware of....

This is not a draw order problem, it is a 3D problem. The wall is solid and therefore it hides 1/2 your line. Set the wall to 100% transparent and your line will show but with the wall line in the middle of it. You may want to keep your walls solid but skinny the line down to maybe a 1 ?

I knew it was a 3d problem. I hadnt thought of making the walls transparent. Thanks for the tip! I'll try it tomorrow first thing. Thanks!

Just to follow up:
Setting walls to transparent is not ideal as all the stuff running through them (Ducts, Structure, etc) is now shown. So I am still Lineworking the ceiling edges to show cleaner. Still searching for a better way....
