Hi there-
Using Revit Architecture 2013
I have created a bunch of model groups of curtain wall window systems in a structural revit file. I'm trying to transfer the model groups to an updated version of the structural file. The window sytems contain custom profiles for mullions, as well as custom curtain panels.
I have attatched a picture of one of the model groups. Ideally I would like to simply drop them all from one BIM model into the other in the exact same spot, but I have a feeling it won't be as simple as that.
Does anyone know of the easiest way to make this transfer?

If the same file, then just open both - copy to clipboard and paste same place in the new file.
Otherwise explain better. Your question is unclear. If you updated the original file, then it will be there. Is one file architectural and linked into structural then say so.

Right, I'm copying and pasting and it seems to be going well. It's just a lot of model groups so I suppose I should take it bit by bit.
Thanks

Did you group elements that are only placed in one place? If that is so, then this is a poor choice. Grouping is for multiple placements.
Again - If this is the same file - then they should already be there - I wish you would better explain exactly what you are doing.
From 3D views, all copies of a group can be copied - placed in one operation.

The copying and pasting seems to be working fine, but once in a while a model will only appear with some of the components... This particular model group is made up of three curtain wall sections, and when I copy and paste only one appears. The highlighted blue is the wall section not appearing, but still noticeably part of the model group when I try to edit the group.
Any idea why the visibility is messing around with me?

I'm going to back out here. Without knowing more about what you are doing I may just be giving you bad advice. Your process and reason for doing this is suspect ... it just doesn't make sense.

Thanks, I think I worked out the visibility problems, now I can see everything. Thanks for the help.
