Hey guys, i've been using revit for quite some time at a very basic level. I have recentley upgraded to Revit 2013. When I click shaded view on in 3d perspective, everything turns up grey. I have checked the materials and have selected use render appearance for shaded view, when I click that the colour underneath turn Grey, but the material is clearly colour stone.
Been stuck on this for quite some time, any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
Nitesh

All materials in Revit have to be assigned. If it's grey - then you probably have not assigned it anything. Shaded view colors are assigned separately from rendered color. Do some reading on Revit's materials and how to assign them.

I have assigned them, I had no problems doing it in revit 2012, just revit 2013 dosn't seem to show the material. I have attached a screen shot of what happens when I tick the box.

I can't see where is the problem, everything is ok, in your 3D view change to "Realistic Mode", now you'll see the mat.

only reason every thing looks ok in 3d view is because, i set material shading to a certain colour, but if i use the tick box for use render material, then it goes grey.

Your material may be corrupted. Try something else and see if that works. If it does, then the problem is the material.
