Version: Revit Architecture 2013
Creating PDF's from Revit using PDF creater.
Hi All,
I'm having an issue with the physical print quality of PDF's produced from Revit. First off the PDF itself when produced from Revit is of superb quality, I have no problems with lineweights, shading etc., and it looks wonderful on the computer screen.
However, when I send the PDF file to our printer, they come out very light compared to how they appear on the computer screen (very crisp with good contrast). Please keep in mind I'm not talking about pixelation or lineweights here, I'm talking about how light the print is. In addition, not all elements of the print come out light, for example the titleblock comes out just fine in addition to cut lines and patterns. Dimensions, gridlines, and colors come out light for some reason.
A direct plot to the printer from Revit produces a good quality print. However a print from the PDF created from Revit creates a light inconsitent print for some reason.
I hope this makes sense. It could be issues with Adobe PDF or the printer itself, but I just cannot understand why printing PDF's directly from the Revit File don't contain this issue.

EDIT (end of my post): I mean to say printing directly to a printer from Revit doesn't contain this issue.

This sounds like a settings issue from your PDF program.

I definately find the quality of using 'vector' instead of 'raster' help when producing the PDF. The downside is vector doesn't support shadows or shaded views. So good for 'normal' documentation but not so good for presenntation stuff.
