Hi,

 

I see there is a template for the family "profile" and profile hosted" ? What is the difference between these two family's? And when do I to use the family "profile" and "profile hosted'?

Hosted - seems pretty obvious.... it is hosted by something - like a wall - a roof edge.

Not a wise crack answer... You obviously need to do a little research and learning on your own.  Did you ever think about using your help and serching it for profile?   If so, you would have found this as a beginning.  Also if you look in your library, you will find various profiles and examining them will help you to understand what they are used for.  Profiles are used for creating solid and void forms as an extrusion along a path.

 

You do understand why a door is a hosted family (typically)?
