Sections and elevations have nothing to do with the view range of the RCP. Don't add to the confusion.

The fundamental flaw with controlling view range graphically from a section is that each and every floor plan and ceiling plan have their own individual set of view range properties.

Everything is programmable. You can have a button to turn on and off the view range lines and a pull down menu to choose which level view range you want to show. For example.

But why from a section? You can't see how that affects the RCP, you need to do it from RC plan.

In the same way you can adjust the far cliping plane of a section in a plan view by dragging it. Just look the explanation: it is a section view, with dashed lines indicating the cut plane, the view depth plane and the top plane.......well you could dreg those dashed lines. That`s all

It would really help to set the range graphically. Something sim to the wall edit assembly box, instead of just inputting numbers.
Thanks dgcad for the illustration.

I find it interesting that nobody complains about view range for floor plans. I believe this is simply an understanding issue.

Hey all, I made a video to help show the steps on how you can show a door in a Reflected Ceiling Plan in Revit. Enjoy!
