I'm new to the rendering side of Revit. I'm having some luck but my windows are really dark on my exterior view.

I have tried turning on interior lights, increacing the reflectivity of the glass to 100%, (I even tried switching the material to mirror). Is the problem that there is nothing to reflect? Ideally I'd like the sky to reflect in glass with the upper story windows brighter.

Change your glass properties.

Under render settings go to indirect illumination options and make sure none of those are set to 1 and then increase the values up also make sure reflection and transparency options are not set to 1.  You will get a reflection anyways because that is reality with exterior windows but they always tend to be dark on exteriors.

Also you can go into your materials properties and turn transparency on set the image fade to 0 and translucency to 100.

I realize that this post is very old. But i am having the same issue. I cant get my windows to not appear black in my revit 3d rendering.

What is the solution? Nothing seems to be changing the color. always pitch black

Read the posts above.  Also look at what 'glass' your windows are.  It may be different than what you think.
