(REVIT 2011 user) Hey yall,
So our project team began at 1/16" PLANs and late into CD discovered that it would be best if we made sectors of the buildings so the dwg wasn't overcrowded with annotations...
Since, we have divided the building up and begun to scale up PLANs to 1/8". We started by first duplicating with details the original 1/16" view. However, as you know, it deletes the call out bubbles and anything being referenced on that sheet because the view isnt placed on a sheet...so it deletes call out bubbles, matchlines, etc.
Is there anyway to scale up a view, with details, and keep the callout in tact...or at least relink them to the new 1/8" sheet they will be placed on? It makes no sense to have an "overall" 1/16" plan with call out bubbles on them, when you have a larger more detailed 1/8" plan in the set.
Also, when I duplicated the view, I wanted to keep it organized in such a way that I duplicated with details the 1/16" view, renaming the new one 1/8" FP_areas. Then I duplicated as dependent that view several times so I had 1/8" FP_Area 1; 1/8" FP_Area 2; etc. My question is, is there any benefit to duplicating as dependent? My thought of reason was that we keep the original copied 1/16" as a header of sort to organize it (because we have several floors) with the specific areas views as dependents to that. What are pros and cons compared to just duplicating w/ details several times and regioning them as needed?
Cheers and thanks!

Don't duplicate it, Just scale it up, then create your dependent views for the matchline views.

haha darn...even though we are still using the 1/16" dwg (more as a reference/overall plan), youre right, it would have been easier to scale up, duplicate as dependent, match line them, and then duplicate w/ details the original and scale down to 1/16" oppose to other way around.
Well shucks...at least I know in the future. However, is there still any way to rereference call out bubbles since i've already done it the wrong way?

You can use the "reference other view" for all views - section, elevation, region callout.
