I am having a problem nesting families within families... Basically, we have a curtain panel window with an attached spandrel panel at the bottom. We want to tag and schedule the spandrel panel seperately. So I wanted to create a seperate curtain window panel for it and then nest it into the main panel family. But when I go to do this and error message occurs saying "curtain panels cannot be imported". Am I approaching this the right way..or should I be using windows instead of curtain panel windows...?

You can't do this.
Use a grid and a seperate panel.
