I have a custom family that I created which is basically a rectangular extrusion. It has instance parameter length and width and type param height. I loaded it into another family and created a composition of many pieces, adjusting their width and height. Later I realized I wanted to use a schedule to do take-offs of these lengths and widths, but I didn't originally make them reporting parameters. I went back into the original family and changed length/width to reporting and tried to reload it. When the override box pops up, it doesn't matter which option I select, they all revert back to their original length/width and all the instance properties are lost. What is happening?Also, I realized that you can't do schedules in a family, only a project file. Right now I have shadow box.rfa loaded into an .rvt file so I can do the schedules. I tried to copy and paste from the family to the project but that's prohibited too. Any suggestions to avoid having to do that? Thanks!JP
