So I am trying to make a walkthrough where I fly around the building in a nice even cricle. if I use four camera key points my path is sort of rhomboid. and not circular. is it better to use eight key camera points or am I not adjusting it right?

Did you try using 8 to see what happens? I would think that the more you use the smoother the transition will be.

yea the number of key frames has no influence on the quality- they are only for your convenience, so put in as many or as few as you desire. The more there are the more control you have over the path, but it also makes it hard to make big changes because you have to move more points. add them and delete them as much as you need!
a thought regarding the circle, draw your circle with detail lines then you can easily move the key frames onto it :-)
