I am working on riser diagrams in Revit MEP 2013. I need to have the plumbing fixtures hidden to allow better views of the piping, but I also need the tags to remain as identifying "placeholders" for that equipment. Of course, when you hide the fixture, the tag hides too. Are there any settings, work arounds, or "cheats" that anyone has figured out to accomplish this? I have tried setting the detail level to course, and this solves 85% of the problem, but there are still pieces of toilet, urinals, and whole sink units still visible. I am desperately trying to avoid tagging them all, going back to add simple text at each fixture, and then hiding the fixtures (and consequently, the tags) leaving all of those simple text lines to be used as "dumb" tags. I really don't want to lose the tag intelligence and connectivity in case a fixture were to change in the plans down the road, and doing that tedious work of noting them all isn't giving me happy thoughts either. Any ideas? Thanks!

The object ... any part of the object... has to exist in order for the tag to show.
One option - You can set the VG of that view so that plumbing fixtures are white lines.

There are a couple ideas in this thread but I don't like any of them and none are an easy solution.

We found a solution that worked for our particular situation, but I'm not sure it would work, or be efficient, for all situations where someone might want the objects invisible, but the tag to remain. We changed the visibility graphics "Detail Setting" under Plumbing Fixtures to be "Coarse" for all of our Plumbing Riser Diagram Views. We then took whatever families (plumbing fixtures) that still had pieces showing up in the diagram and edited the family to set all parts as not visible when viewed in Coarse detail mode.
The tags are now visible, but the objects are not - allowing for less obstruction of view from the piping that we are trying to feature in these diagrams.
Thanks to all for the help!
