Randomly, a small rectangle show up in my Revit window which has what seems to be a piece of a generic floor plan in it. Over time, another and then another will appear cascaded. They don't respond to anything except shutting Revit down and restarting. next time it shows up I'll attach a screen shot of it.

This sounds like a video card / driver issue. Make sure you have the latest updates installed. You might also tur off the graphics accelerator.
