I am coming up with some standards. What are options for Revit file structure when multiple users are involved?

I was thinking a folder with a centrial file then each user has a folder with user name working from centrial.

What are others doing?

Thanks,

Rob

We have our central file on our server then the users make local files on their C drives so that we dont have to use the extra space on the server.

Thanks! Thats a good idea with the local drive.

When do you create your centrial file? I was thinking of having individual files with design options, then when the client selects a design create the centrial file for multiple users to access. The other "old designs" can be plased into an "old" file.

Thanks again,

Rob

One file from the begining if you have multiple users.... We enable worksets even when we only have one user.

Design options are especially made to be used for different options IN ONE FILE!  So don't use the process you described.

Thanks! I was playing around with design options for this too.

I appreciate your feedback!

Thanks again,

Rob
