Is it possible to adjust the independent layers of a stacked wall? I have tried unlocking the layers in the family type structure without success and have also noticed that "create parts" does not appear to be available for this wall type. I suppose I could create a different wall type for each vertical section of wall where I want to make those kind of adjustments but would like to know if there are other ways to do this. Thanks!

You can create your stacked wall and then click on it, right click and choose Break Up. That should allow you to adjust the parts of the structure per wall (if you unlocked them in the wall structure).

Once you break up the wall will you be able to rejoin them as a stacked wall or is that relation lost? Thanks again!

It will not be a stacked wall anymore but you can attach the top of the bottom wall to the base of the top wall and they will stay joined if you change base or top offsets.

You do not need to break up a stacked wall in order to modify it.
Yes, you have to create each unique basic wall for that stacked wall.
The way I usually did, was as followings.
1. The stacked wall: Ext-Wd-01, which has the basic walls as in 2 thru 5.
2. Basic wall 1 as Ex-Wd-01-Footing.
3. Basic wall 2 as Ex-Wd-01-Stem-Wall.
4. Basic wall 3 as Ex-Wd-01-Brick/Tile.
5. Basic wall 4 as Ex-Wd-01-Stucco/Tile.
This way you can modify each basic wall, which will be shown on that stacked wall.
For example, you can add a reveal on Basic wall #4, that reveal will be shown on that stacked wall.
It is a tedious process for a large project, but at least you can be sure that that change will be carried thru the whole project.

CDW,
The question was about unlocked wall layers in a stacked wall portion. You MUST unstack to adjust the layer height.
HP11 - There is no advantage to "restacking" the wall. We usually breakup all of our stacked walls after initial design so that they can be controlled better.

The layer height? Did you mean that the height of each basic wall?
Yes, you can change them in Revit 2013.
Did I miss something here?

Yes, you are missing something. Wall layers can be adjusted vertically - independent of the wall.
