Hi
I have a file that I have applied different floor finishes to different rooms based on flooring patterns and hatches - they are not visible in the floor plans . Funny thing is if I make a seperate room outside the project in the same view and assign it flooring patterns - it does show up all the floor finishes. The only reason I can think of is phases. Please help. I have attached images for reference.

When you say I have applied different floor finishes to the floors, do the different finishes show up in the sections? generally I make them separate floors as coverings, and give them appropriate finish thicknesses. they need to be above the floor and your view depth needs to be below the surface. Also is the view detail level set to fine?

No they dont show up in the section. They are not 3d surfaces - but just pattern hatches - made to indicate nthe new flooring layouts. I made a seperate room next to my building and tried applying these hatch patterns to the room - and I can them on that - but I cannot actually see them on on my flooring finish plan. All I get is a series of blue colored plans.

mbsteve,
The poster is just using color fill / color fill legend. This has noting to do with materials.
vintin,
The rooms will not populate with a color unless you set the associated parameter.
Also - some patterns do not show at small scales.

Thanks for replying. Ya you are right- these are not materials with actual thicknesses. These are just 2d hatch patterns used to denote floor finishes in a 2d floor plan view. I created it using the same method as we do a color legend - but replaced the colors with hatch patterns. It seemed to work for the small room that you see floating above the blue bulding hatch in the drawing - but when i apply it to my actual bulding it does not show up. I donot think its a problem of hatch scale as it does show up in the building next to it. My hunch is it must have something to do with phasing. What can I do about this?

Change the view phase settings and see what happens.
We can only guess otherwise because you don't show us enough .... like the room properties.
