Hello All,
I just installed Revit 2012 on a machine running Windows 8 and the section marks show up in orange instead of the normal Blue. When I import an image, the colors of the image also get inverted. I am attaching screenshots of the section mark, the inverted image and the image in its regular form.
Tried reinstalling Revit, and it still does not work. If anyone could help me fix this,I would greatly apreciate it.
Thank you,
B

Revit has not yet been cleared to support Windows 8 so that may be the problem. Have you updates all of the service packs?

Hello,
I'm curious to find out if you have found the solution for this problem. This morning i noticed that I'm having the same issue in revit 2012. Some colors are inverted and some aren't. My section marks are now orange and other things like matchlines and a selected text also have some weird colors.
Any thoughts??
Thank you

Hi all,
My computer is up-to-date with all the updates. I just noticed that it is just not the section marks that appear as as orange, but other marks (that are blue) like the floor level marks also appear as orange. I also noticed that any colors that are blue(ish) get converted to orange and anything that is orange or yellow(ish) get converted to blue.
I am guessing it may be the graphics driver on my computer that is not working well with Revit. I may need to see if there are any other graphics drivers I could use that may solve the problem.
I am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop. What computer are you using Revitdiva?
Thanks,
B

I'm using a Dell desktop and I heard that we had some windows updates installed last night. We use windows 7 here in the office. Everything was looking normal last night so maybe the updates have something to do with this.

Users on another forum are speculating its related to a Windows update that rolled out over the past 24hours.

I'm now wondering if this is really related to the recent windows update. Another computer in the office here, that has also been updated last night, didn't have the same issue. I opened the same model and everything looked normal (no strange colors that is).

The problem has to do with this update:
Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB267083
After installing this update, the section tags, highlighted text boxes, survey marker, etc is now inverted. I don't know the solution, but I do know the cause.

I had the same issue. I did a system restore before the Windows Update and it is back to normal.

Try going to the "R", options, graphics and uncheck the use hardware box. Then restart your project. Worked for me.

This worked. Thanks a lot!! You are God and I bow before you.
So, in concusion, to fix this problem:
1) Those using windows 7 can either uninstall the update that is causing the problem or use this procedure.
2) Those using windows 8 (which has the update built in to it), the only way is to uncheck the graphics box under "R"

While the color changes are a bit distracting, it doesn't really change anything. Whats the point in building a top of the line computer only to turn off hardware acceleration? I'm just going to make due with the color shifts. Maybe 2014 or something will work out well
