"Revit Architecture 2013 Tutorial Series"
I've been offered this video training course, has anyone tried it, or tried something similar? I was thinking of taking a few days teaching course with real instructor but they are thousands of pounds. The videos are only a few hundred pounds, but there's no-one to ask questions to. Has anyone had success with video training, and is there a recommended source?
Thanks,
Graham

I haven't taken any formal training. All of my knowledge was self taught by using CADclips.com, youtube tutorials, Out of the Box tutorials, google searches and of cours Revit City has been a big help. Cadclips is very nice and the tutorials are not very expensive at all.

Thanks,
By tutorials not expensive, you mean the 2012 beginner package for $10? Did you try that? I thought the only other deals were $200 or $300.

I'm not sure if he is still offering the 25% off for Revit City members so that brings even the 1 year download to $150. There are also a lot of FREE tutorials at cadclips.com

i'd recommend buying a book instead. books are easy to follow, go at the pace of the person reading it. videos you have to follow along with someone who may not be the best presenter. search books by Paul Aubin, Phil Read, Eddy Krygiel and Michael Anonuevo.

graham,
i have previously purchased cad clips from daryl.
i found these very helpful, and liked being able to rewind to go over a point again.
i also found him to be a good presenter and explained things well.
i have no connection with him or his company, just thought i would relate my experience with his clips.
cheers from the land downunder !

Thanks Mansel. Australia are huge CADclips / REVIT users. Nothing but good feedback.
I always found books to be too 'wordie' when trying to learn a software that is mainly graphics oriented. Not bad for reference once you know what you're doing but even then, a live demonstration is worth 1000 words.
Cheers !

For the money and quality, you will find Cadclips hard to beat in my book. When I renew my Autodesk subcription, I also renew
my Cadclips subscription.

A video tutorial gives you the opportunity to study a subject of interest in the comfort of your own home or office. It brings the classroom to your doorstep. It is a great way to learn. The hallmarks of great video tutorials are:
1. Great content, organised in a sequential and logical manner effective for online learning experience.
2. Tutor interaction.
3. Good Lighting.
4. Excellent Audio.
5. Good framing and video quality.

Following the launch of the Autodesk 2013 product range, the Official Autodesk 2013 Revit tutorial books (Revit manuals) are now available. As usual, the Revit tutorial books are packed with great how to guides, project examples and in-depth graphical Revit tutorials along with explanations of all the new features of Revit Architecture 2013 and Revit MEP 2013 software. At the time of writing, no Revit Structure 2013 tutorial book has been released but we eagerly await this update and will inform all Revit tutorial followers once it has been released.
