Hi! What is the best method to draw a framed hip roof. I would like to use metal c channel, w shapes, and tube steel to do this roof. I started a new Family to draw the roof but I am having trouble getting some of my steel shapes to work with the angles. Thanks,Rob

Post some images please so we can see.... You can use the "Beam System" to do that

Thanks! I attached what I am working on. I am doing this as a family and extruding the steel shapes. The top ridge is a piece of tube steel 10"x3" the rafters are c channel. I am using voids to cut the corners where members join. I am having an issue with the hip, its twisting off axis when I rotate it into place. Any ideas would be great, Thanks again.

Rob

Yeah, you can use the Beam System and BTW you don't need to use VOID to cut the corners like you said, you have tools  for that OR you can create in a Section / Elevation view a REF. PLANE and then CUT the beam trought the RP.
