Im using Inventor 2012 and Revit 2013. I made a Mobile Crane in Inventor that is constrained to rise and lower the arm, rotate the arm, extend the arm, etc.. I exported it to an .adsk file and opened it in Revit through the open building component button. It opened up with a box covering it so I exploded it to get rid of the box. My question is, is the only way to move the components in my crane, is to move them in Inventor, export it, and put it back in Revit everytime i want to make a change or is there a better way to go about this?

Inventor is not Revit, create that in Revit if you want to have absolute control to your family

Well I know that in Inventor 2010 you were able to export a family table to revit. But it dosen't seem like you can do that in 2012. So if there is a way to bring over my parameters from inventor to revit that would solve it, right?

or can I import each component into revit seperatly and then constrain it together with parameters?

Here is a pic of my crane. It is made up of 6 components: The hook; the first, second, and third parts of the arm; the component that everything pivets on; and the body. Does anyone know if I can still constrain these parts using parameters in revit even though they were made in inventor. Or do I need to completly start over in revit.

I found these 2 post, I am not sure if it will help with applying parameters or not.

Personally your crane does not look very complex so it may be faster to just redo in Revit.
