Working in 2013. Noticed the "out of box" templates does not include electrical. More specifically, when I load up the mechanical template, in the browser it is broken up by discpline (i.e. mechanical floor plans and ceiling, plumbing floor plans and elevations) but no electrical discipline. I know if I make a copy of a view and then change its discipline to electrical, then it will create it. But am I missing something to where revit automatically creates the basics of electrical in the browser with lighting floor plans and ceiling plans? This was how it was with 2012.

I figured it out. I needed to open the browse on my templates when I go to new project. Kind of odd that when you open a new project and asks you for what template you want to use it brings up none, arch, const, struct, and mech. But no electrical.

The Out of the Box template does not include a started floor plan/elevations for electrical.  You can edit the template to include this so that it is always there when you start a project.  You should have a template created anyway designed for your specific needs
