Hi everyone, I'm facing a problem that I'd like to find a solution without major workarounds.
I'm doing a commercial building where the core is a group placed on 4 out of the 5 floors. I know the only parameter I can change on grouped doors is the mark, nothing else, right?
My door tag shows the floor (1F, 2F, 3F, etc.) and the door number, both using the same parameter: Mark. I've also got a callout to one of the typical cores for detailing but on this callout instead of showing the floor and the door number I want to show TF (for Typical Floor) and the door number.
I'd like to keep my floor information (1F, 2F, 3F, etc.) for schedule purposes and use another parameter to display the TF but I don't see a way to not show the floor and still show the door number since I can't split these two into two separate ones.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is my way to work around this.
First, try to assign those 12 doors in the core to the highest door numbers with a gap, which means on the first floor, if you have 80 doors, other doors numbered from D01 to D68, the doors in the core started from D81 to D92; on the second floor, if you have 72 doors, other doors numbered from D01 to D60, the doors in the core started from D81 to D92 same as the 1st floor; on the typical floors, if you have 65 doors, other doors numbered from D01 to D53, the doors in the core started from D81 to D92 same as the 1st floor, and so on so forth,Then, on the floor plan sheets, which I assumed should be on 1/8" scale, hide those doors in the core, with an enlarged plan eference as you had 1/A451, and a note "SEE ENLARGED PLAN FOR DOOR NUMBERS".Then on the enlarged plan, I assumed should be on 1/4" scale, you can number those 12 doors from T/D81 to T/D92.
This way the door numbering gap will be shown on the door schedule as well, you can have a note on the door schedule, to refer back to the enlarged plan.Hoping that this can solve your problem.

Hi CDWdavid, thanks for taking the time to read my post and replying.
Sorry, I just want to understand: do you hide the tags in the 1/8 floor plan and show door numbers only in the enlarged one?

Yes, I think you have to hide those doors in the core on 1/8" scale, and manually type those on the 1/4" scale enlarged plan with T/D81 for example.Otherwise your door schedule can not be shown correctly.I have not tried it, but you door schedule might have 1F/D01, .... T/D81; 2F/D01, ......, T/D81, 3F/D01, T/D81. It might create sorting problem. It is better to have the door schedule shown like the following: 1F/D01, .... 1F/D81; 2F/D01, ......, 2F/D81; 3F/D01, 3F/D81, with a note "SEE ENLARGED PLAN FOR DOOR NUMBERS FROM D81 TO D92".

Hmm... I see your point... but how would you rename the doors in one of the floors as a "T" door (to use in the callout) and still keep the floor information (1F or 2F for example) so the schedule shows all of them?

On the 3rd floor, for example, you will have 3F/D81, on the plan, and hide the door tag on the sheet.
Then on the enlarged plan, you could just insert a door tag manually and label it as "T/D81".

Create a new door tag with a new 'Mark' shared parameter and use this tag in your enlarge plan.

Thanks Pavan,
That's a perfect solution.
I'll try it in the future.

Be aware that this new tag will not work the same in schedules..... The regular tag will be in a different column.
