Hey all,My firm has never really set up our projects the "right" way, with shared coordinates and accurate survey points etc. to coordinate lined civil CAD and linked MEP and Structural models. This is a large project and I really want to make sure I do this the right way in order to save headaches down the road.
As much as I've read some great posts here and elsewhere about setting this up, I just can not seem to grasp how this all works and how I can go step by step to do this properly.
Here's what I have:
-CAD survey with topo, boundary lines, all sorts of other junk. The benchmarks listed on the drawing are described, not called out, though. So I do not have a specific basepoint upon which to base my revit project.
-The beginnings of a site plan drawn by our civil eng. He XREF'd the survey into his drawing and is drawing 2d cad on to of it.
-our SD Revit model, pretty far along and with significant detail for an SD model.
I'd like to know the steps I need to take to make sure that everything that gets linked in to the revit model pops right into place where it's supposed to be automatically. Would anyone care to take a stab at helping me out? Thank you.
