The little boxes one clicks to link nested file parameter up to host file parameter do not appear.  Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Sorry, I'm a little confused. I had thought that they were type parameters, but in the file properties other, shared is checked in both files.  Should they be unchecked?

I was talking about the parameter - not the file.  If you don't know what shared parameters are, then you need to read about them in your HELP.

Okay, I think I get it now.  I used to work in an older Revit version where the shared option was in a different place.  I un-shared (they shouldn't have been in the first place) and now all's well.
