edit your title block
click on your time stamp and choose "select parameter" from top, a dialogue box will open at the bottom change the value to represent what you want i.e 29/01/06
click ok.

elvis,
there is no reason for you to work in 7. Revit is subscription base, which means that all should upgrade same time... not sure about 7, sorry.

I have also tried this using 8.1 and have not been able to get it to work.
From what I can find the "value" that you can change is only a sample value as a placeholder when you are laying out the template.
I would also like to be able to use only a part of the date stamp (specifically the year) to automatically change the copyright date on our titleblock.
I can see this for other labels as well so if anyone knows how to format a label parameter to be only a part of the whole it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

I am having the same issue in Revit Structure '09. Like Brian said, the only value I can change is the placeholder. When I open the titleblock in a project, it gives the full date/time stamp. Has anyone figured this one out yet?

has anyone found a solution to this? I am using 2010 and would like my timestamp to read "2009.07.02" instead of the 07/02/2009.

Simple...If your using XP then Click on Start>Control Panel, then Double click on Date and Time and then click on Change the format of nuber, date and time, then click on customize then click on date tab and select yy-MM-dd (or type) your own format. Then on time tab type h:m for time format field. Now you can have your format of date like 09-07-02 10:30. Here you can't eliminate time but you can eliminate seconds. See attched images.

For Vista users Open Control panel, double click on Regional and language options and click on customize this format and change the date and time as you like. Check the attachment

We just started using Revit Architecture 2011 and I've been charged with setting up our title blocks. In the past, we've had problems with the dates on our sheets being updated prior to printing a set so this time around, we want to set up a "date plotted" field and have Revit automatically insert the current date. I know that there is a default "date/time" label available, but we don't want the time to show up in our title block - just the date. I've been searching this forum and it seems like others have been looking for a similar solution but I haven't been able to find the answer. Has anyone been able to solve this problem? Thanks!

I'm with you Erichgw. Lots of discussion but no specific solution. I hope we're not wasting our time trying to something that's not possible. Seems like it should be simple, but ...

There is a temporary solution for this Time stamp not to be shown.
Create a white solid filled region (1" x 1/4" approx) in a 'Generic Annotation ' family using invisible lines and load into the project.
In the sheet view using 'Symbol' place the family on the 'Time Stamp' and copy to clip board.
Then click on Paste > Aligned to selected views and select all the sheets views from the dialog box.
Hope this solution helps you.

Instead of using "Date/Time Stamp",use "Project Issue Date". Then you may change on the Sample Value or also you too can change it later in any Sheet opened

I got The solution: Just put a masking region (no edges) on the time data of your title block label.

How about changing the time stamp into a standard time naming format like this one - Monday, December 1, 2015..
