HI
I normally have an understanding of this but I happen to have a problem with a few of my issue dates, descriptions, and numbers parameters showing up in my project.
So I have 9 issue dates, descriptions and numbers in my title block.
#1-5 work perfectly fine. I can fill in the information in the properties box.
#6-9 which are pretty much duplicates of #1-5 don't seem to show up in the properties box.
They are in text format shared parameters basically being common and text.
In the project they show up as question marks ready to be filled in.
In the project parameters they do not show up only #1-5
If I try to edit them in the title block family it is a shared parameter coming from the .txt they are all greyed out as they should be. Just like #1-5
Does anyone know why I can't use #6-9 or it doesn't show up in the properties box or anywhere?
Any help would be good as I am stuck on this.
Thanks so much.

What version of Revit are you using? You are talking about text format shared parameters, are you not using the out of the box Revit Sheet Issued/Revision format? If you are using that then you need to make sure that you have something clouded otherwise you can add revisions to the properties box but it will not show up on the issued sheets even if you have checked the "Issued" box in the Sheed Issues/Revisions dialog box. We draw one small cloud in the corner of a sheet then hide it if we want to issue a sheet but do not want to show a cloud.

We are currently using Revit Architecture 2012.
It's actually not one of the Issued/ Revisions where we use clouds.
It is actually just a shared text parameter which gives it's own Issue date/number/description on a seperate part of the title block.
It's just in the properties box just filling out the box where it says issue 6, issue date (6), issue description (6)
and so on with the other numbers.

So you say 1-5 show up, if you make changes to 1-5 do the changes appear?

Yup if I make changes to 1-5 they appear and I can even change it on the sheet by double clicking the question marks.
But for some reason 6-9 don't show up.
And they are exactly the same even in the .txt file

When you say properties box, I assume you mean for the sheet and that these are not project parameters. << Or is this part of the problem
Also - could some of these be type parameters vs instance parameters?

Hey WWhub
Yah you are correct when you say properties box for the sheet. Also correct that part of the problem is that they aren't project parameters. Actually 1-5 are, but 6-9 aren't.
I've already looked into type and instance, it doesn't really make a difference both don't show up either way. Also since it is a shared parameter it doesn't give me the option to change to anything in the actuall sheet family, it is just greyed out.

If they are a type parameter, you have to edit the sheet type so it does matter. Pick the sheet, then in the properties box, pick edit type and there I bet you will find them.

Hi WWhub,
Tried that already. They aren't there to change.

Post the family - remove all non-pertinent, private information.

You have double labels pointing to the same shared parameter - not sure why.
I would make new.....

So I tried making new labels specifically for that certain parameter and I still have it now showing up anywhere in the sheet properties or anyplace I can type it in

Have these shared parameters worked in any other title blocks on any other projects? Maybe there is something wrong with them and the shared parameter file. I would do some testing - just adding one at a time to your titleblock family and seeing if it works in the project each time.
