Hey all, I'm new to Revit 2013 and am focusing mostly on the MEP side of things but one structural portion I need to get figured

out is how to create UniStrut PS-200, shown in this .pdf here: http://www.powerstrut.com/ps200pdf/ps200.pdf

I would prefer to make this so that it gets placed just like any other structural item, such as C-Channel. You load the family,

click the first point, drag along the desired length and click again to end it. Below I'll lay out the steps I began to take so

you can see where I am stuck.

1. I did New -> Family -> Generic Model

2. I began drawing the profile shown in the above .pdf, and got it centered along both of the axis that show when you open

the new family.

Now I'm stuck. I started going down this route assuming I needed to make a profile first because when I open the C-Channel

family and go into the editor, it appears it was created with a profile and then a sweep. The sweep function wasable to select

the profile of the channel. I can't seem to figure out how to convert my sketch into the profile, which then can be swept.

Thanks fellas!

You need to create that using Generic Model LINE BASED.. go to a right side or left side view, draw your profile and add the Length parameter to the Extrusion End constraints.
