Hopefully, nobody is working directly in the central file but in their own local. The file will not sync while another user is doing so. If those ar not your problem, then it is a network issue.

Just have them create a new local file from the new central file.

I linked my autocad files with revit from the revit ribbon. I am mainly working in Revit with the linked autocad files. So every time I save in Revit, is it saving my work in autocad as well? Which program is my local file and which one is my central file? How can I tell if the file I am working with is a central file or a local file? While at college, I tryed to open my own revit file, and I got a message saying that I am not the creator of the linked files. Instead the school computer was recognizing my school username. How in the world did that happen? I created my linked files at home. I am the only user of my linked files.

Revit will not save your autoCAD files. The only way to do that is to export Revit.
Did you enable worksets? If so, then it is up to you to name your files in a manner that tells you what you are in. Our process:
- Enable worksets
- Save as (save as central is default so therefore is ghosted.) We put central in the name of the file and save on our network.
- Either
- Now do another save as for your local in your computer (I put local in this file name).
- Or close the file and open the central with create new local checked and save this file to your system. << This process will put your name apended to the central's name.
