How to move an object vertically in REVIT?
I have an in-place [generic model] that I need to move upwards to a specific point.
The MOVE tool only allows moving in XY axis.

Before moving look at Ribbon, you have a "Constrain" button, Uncheck that (turn OFF)

I tried that and also "Disjoin" but still the object only moves in X and Y axis. See the video bellow:

You built the in-place and we don't know how you did that. If it is locked to planes in the model, it can't move.
Sometimes easier to edit the in-place and move there.......

The object is a simple extrusion made from: Home / Component / Model in Place / Generic Models / Extrusion.
If I try to move the model inside the edit mode, I cant get the snap tool to snap anywhere at all. VIDEO HERE
Its weird. I am sure I did it before. That has to be a missing detail somewhere!
Any more ideas?

click the object and a menu should pop up that you can specify how much youy want to offset the object by on the floor

1 - Is that the only way? - Measure and right down all the hights I need, and insert it in the OFFSET field one by one?
2 - Is there no way to move an object in 3D by using the MOVE tool? I can draw the object again if need be. Just let me know which type of object allows that!
Thanks in advance!

The component may be constrained to the plane it was created on. Click on the model, then edit in-place >> click on all the individual elements within the component >> edit Work Plane >> Under 'Current Work Plane' click Dissociate. That will stop it from being constrained to the plane it was created in, probably the horizonal level you were working on.

There is only one element, [an extrusion], in the component.
I checked and there is no workplane associated to it. You mean here, right: ScreenShot Link

Yes I think this is referring to the same thing. See attached picture.

Quit editing things like this in 3D mode - that's why you can't snap to them. Get into the view and work plane the element was created in.

Why don't you just change the extrusion start and end? If you want to move an extrusion 4'-0" up, which had "start"at 3'-0", "end" at 10'-0"; just change them to 7'-0" and 14'-0".

I see that revit is probably not the tool to model free forms in 3D. But is there another element, like Mass elements for example, that could be easier to model. Mass elements also do not snap in the vertical axis in a 3D view. Any trick, work around?

This is a free form model. I have no idea of the dimentions!
Therefore I need to move things around on all 3 dimentions/axis until I start feeling that the structure is in place.

You should be able to move an in place component in any direction. There is something fishy you must have done while creating it that is constraining it.
Couple of things you could try:
1. Show a screengrab of the sketch used to create the form, that might help others have a better idea of how you built it. It's difficult to know what the problem is just seeing the final product. Or perhaps even load a version so that others can try it.
2. Try building a new component fron scratch, perhaps you did something you didn't realize while building it.
