How many of you have tried to build your own connection families? Instead of doing all the work yourself, have you tried SDS/2 Connect?
Revit users can design their structural connections, complete with code-based design calculations, inside Revit using the SDS/2 Connect add-in. The most recent release (SDS/2 Connect 2013) has added a network version as well as load imports from RAM and RISA-3D. We'll be teaching a lab and a lecture at Autodesk University, which will cover training on the SDS/2 Connect add-in and potential workflows and uses, including LOD 400 deliverables.

SDS/2 Connect will be exhibiting at Central States Revit Workshop 2013 in Omaha, NE this year if anyone wants to know. I find that being able to talk with someone directly greatly improves my understanding of what I'm trying to accomplish.
