Hi all!
So, I have changed the materials of a door from within the family itself (here the color is 100% correct). Then I imported into the project I am working on. The door is used in 2 places on the West elevation. One of the door's color is correct, just as it is in the family editor. However, the other door's color is not correct. The door frame is correct, but notthe door itself.
What is odd to me is the following. In the family editor, the door is correct. In the West elevation, 'door 1' is correct, but 'door 2' is incorrect. However, in 3D mode, both of the doors are correct. This gives me reason to believe that something is wrong in my West elevation view.
Any and all help is appreciated!
Thanks!

Something we publish all the time:
T H E P R O J E C T R U L E S !!
Once a family is loaded into a project with it's own unique materials or if the material already exists in the project, that description rules. Change it all you want in the family - it will not change in the model.
Solution - change it now in the model.

Yes, I am aware of that. I have checked it in the project. It is correct.
What I am saying is, the material in the material browser is correct. The material in the Family Editor is correct. The material on one of the doors is correct, but not the other (they are of the same family). In 3D view the door is correct, but NOT in my Elevation.

Then check your settings.
You can not over-ride a material by view but you can change the "color" if just in a shaded view.

The picture titled 'Doors' is of my Elevation, and 'Doors3D' is of my 3D model.
The doors are identical. But the color of the door in my elevation is wrong.

This is a user error of some sort. Possible problems:
- It is a different family
- The material is an instance variable and assigned differently
- Someone painted on a different material
- If the door panel is a nested family all of the above apply again
I encourage you to find out what you have done differently but if you give up, you can always replace the door.

I didn't think it would be any of these issues. However, I tired them, and the problem remains.
I checked to make sure they are the same family, and they are.The material has been applied to the family as a whole, not just an instance.I 'removed paint', yet the door remains problematic. The door panel is an extrusion within the door family, and is not nested.
In short, the problem remains.I copied the 'correct' door and placed the copy directly beside the original. Then, with the copy, I picked a new host, andplaced it on the wall beside the 'incorrect' door. and the color of the door changed from tan (correct) to gray (incorrect). So, 'copy-of-correct door', when moved to beside 'incorrect door', changes door colors.
Attached is a plan view of the project. 'Correct' door is in orange, and the 'incorrect' door is in green. The dimension forthe angle difference reads 165 degrees. I'm pretty sure, it is not a factor, but would the angle of the wall have somethingto do with it?

What happens when you place a NEW door, dont make a copy just hit DOOR and pick the correct TYPE and place it where it needs to be. Does it match the "correct" or "incorrect" door?

It is not the door, it is the wall or something else at that location. Do you have a seperate veneer wall on the face of this wall that hosts the door? Hide the host wall and see if something else is there. Something in front of the door that has different properties.

@teafoe5, I have the same problem with a new door as well.
@WWHub, The incorrect door remains incorrect with all of the wall types in the project. I have changed the angle between the 2 walls, and the incorrect door changes color. For instance, when Wall-I (the wall that has the incorrect door) is rotated [in plan (now both wall are on the same plane)] to match Wall-C (the wall with the correct door), the incorrect door is then the right color.
When I rotate Wall-C to match Wall-I, the correct door is then the incorrect color.
Additionally, When Wall-I is on a different angle (than the original) AND a different plane as Wall-C, the door is then correct as well.

Ah... Now I see your problem. Revit always alters the color on skewed elements from straight on elements. Make a view normal to the door and the color will be correct.

That's exactly what I thought too. However the door that is incorrect is the door that is straight on.

Post a very small project with just your two walls and the two doors so we don't have to guess anymore. Just open your project, delete everything but these, delete all views, sheets, legends and schedules except the minimum, purge all, then save a new file.
Or copy paste these elements to a new file & purge unused.

Tested your file with two views - bottom your west and top is normal to the slanted wall. As you can see, the colors change according to rather the wall is skewed to the view. THIS IS NORMAL!
