As part of a council submission we have a requirement to provide council with a 3d model for them to use in their City model project. The problem is that they will not accept any model greater than 5mb in size. With a 43 storey apartment building the only way to achieve this is to create a surface model that I can see.
Is there any way to export the surface geometry only from Revit or even open the revit geommetry in a third party application to generate the skin of the model only. We don't require any internals to the building, we simply need the exterior skin of the building.
Any thought would be greatly appreciated.

We always model our buildings with the exterior on a seperate shell workset so that we can isolate it for occasions just like this.
