I have this terrible issue with my project that has to do with copying and mirroring.
Quick background...
Back when this project was started, it was started by someone who didn't know much about Revit. There is an existing building with it's own levels and new levels were created for the new construction. The 3rd, 4th, & 5th floors (existing and new) all have the same elevation from existing to new.
My problem is that when I'm in the new construction plans/views (with the correct associated levels) and I try to copy and/or mirror something, the new component created from the copy/mirror switches itself from the correct level that I'm using (the new construction) to the existing level that means nothing.
Example: If I am on the 5th floor new construction plan and copy a chair that is associated correctly with 5th Floor New Construction (level name), the chair that is the copy is now associated with the level that is 5th Floor Existing (level name).
Why would it do this? What would make the program default a copy of something to the level that isn't even associated with the views that I'm working in?
I'm already aware that levels cannot be merged. I've tried so many work arounds to this but it seems unsolvable.
Any help/advice would be great, or I'm going to lose my marbles. It's extremely tedious and annoying to constantly have to pay attention to something so ridiculous like this on a job that has such a large scope.
