I am using revit architecture 12, im trying to create a roof plan. I have applied the standing seam metal roofing material, and used a texture pattern. Its all great in model. But i am preparing construction documents, and i cannot seem to get the fill patterned aligned properly on my roof plan. Its a hip roof and the fill pattern line should be vertical on two ends and horizontal on the opposite two ends of the roof. Am I missing something, do I have to fake it in my detail views with a filled region?

Use the "Align" tool.
Post some images so we can figure out what's the issue please...

Sounds like you are using "drafting" hatch pattern, which won't align with the faces of the roof. Make sure the hatch pattern is of "model" type, not "drafting".
