I recently upgraded to Revit 2013 and now i am having issues downloading components from revit city. When i click download and open the file, it opens up the family in a new window instead of going into the model that i already have open. This means that i cant load the downloaded family into my project.
I never had this issue with 2012 and i am wondering how to fix this issue

I don't understand your process. You download a family, save it to your computer. Once in your PROJECT click Insert>Load Family and find the family that you just downloaded on your computer.
If you open the family once you download it it will open a new window which would be the family editor. If you do it this was then also open your project and in the family click Load into Project.

You have always had this problem. Downloading from RC has never loaded the family into a project. After downloading, you can load the family from within your model.

I actually didnt have this problem before. I was always able to download the family and it would open in the family editor that was part of the current project i was working on so then i could just load it into the project and not have to save it anywhere. I tried doing this on a few of my classmates computers and their downloads went right into their current project without opening a new window. so it is just my computer

Buerkle,
I think you need to look again. We have been using this product and RevitCity for over 5 years and a RevitCity download never, NEVER loads into the project. However, a download could open up in the same Revit session as your current project. That may be what you are seeing. You still have to load it into your project though. Your best methodology is to download the file to a directory, not to directly open it. Then load it into the program.
