Dear All., I have trained with revit 2009 but now i am thinking about buying a laptop for revit 2012. system requirment and laptop suggestions in autodesk website mentioned about intel core i5 quad-core (2.8GHZ,6MB cache), 8GB RAM, 1680x1050 monitor, 256MB DirectX 10 capable graphics card. But the product they have suggested are more than $1500.
I am willing to spend only $1000 to $1200. Is there any model satisfying these requirements within the budget? OR Can I compromise with any system requirment to reduse the cost?

I always build my computer like I want/need, I don't like to use laptops with Revit.

It really depends on what you are doing. If your just doing houses (<75k) , you can get by with less. Maybe you should even be looking at Revit light. But Revit 2012 and up require more power and memory for typicall non-residential projects.
I too have never used a laptop for day-day Revit.
