using revit 2012.
I created a roof using roof foot print with slopes that have different degrees. what I want to do is to rotate it like the image explains. I am doing it with slopes to keep it planar so I can later make a ceiling using the slope planes. I hope i am explaining myself... it seemed like a simple thing to do but it has taken me hours to solve.
thanks a lot,

You can't do that (rotate) but you can change the offset of the edges, in sketch mode you can select the edge you want then in properties you can change the "offset" parameter.

I don´t think this is possible with Roof by footprint with a different offset for one of the short sides, due to the slopes in all the sides. I think, a possible solution is a family with reference points and surfaces, then load into project, and do roof by face.

Hi thanks for the help,
Yes I tried to offset the edge and it did not allow me to create the roof.
I am going to try the family and roof by face idea, although I am not very familiarized with the roof through faces.
I tried this other option of making a planar foot print roof and then adding diviosn lines and modifying the points but then my problem is the planar surfaces, is there anyway to keep them planar? attached an image of what I mean.
thanks a lot for the help,

Yes, your approach of a flat roof with modify sub-elements, add point, different elevations, etc. can get the job done. Just watch for the thickness of the roof, that sometimes is not mantained constant with this method. But, other than that, this can be a good and easy solution in this case.

yes my only problem is I can[t keep them planar so if later I want to make a ceiling under it, it doesn't let me, I thought I had it but if the face is not planar then I can not choose it as a plane. so later I can't use it for structure etc. cause it doesnt recognize it as a face.. aa it seems like such a simple thing but I cant find a way to do it. Is there a way around the planar stuff??? Am i explaining my self?
thanks again
