I'm gonna feel like a dope if I can actually already do this, but I'd like it if the modification of the floor elevations was the same as the modification of the Topo. I always set topo with absolute values. I'd like to do the same with floor elevations. Actually, I'd really like a "site hardsurface" that isn't floor, and curbs that aren't miniature walls or built up components, but that's another issue.
Topo allows you to input precise absolute elevations, while floor elevation modification is plus/minus a datum point. When reconciling a topo point of say, 2153.13, imagine the mental gymastics to set the floor on that topo with a Datum of, say, 2147.00 and then attempt put the top of a 4" thick floor on top of that 2153.13. The answer is to input on the node button the difference of 2153.13-(2147+0.33) or +6.46. When you go above and/or below a datum, one has to remember that up is positive, (or negative), and down is negative, (or positive).
Wouldn't it be easier to have the option to input an absolute elevation into the node of the floor?

You can do that. Just change your datum to project.

I ssume you mean set the floor to an offset from a new level created at 0.00?
Hmmm....yep...that would work.
