I designed a straight run stair that has circular treads. I know how to change the nosing shape, but i don't know how to change the shape of the actual tread. Is this possible?

I looked at that thread, but it deals with a different issue so it doesn't really help. Thanks anyway, though.

What are you trying to change the tread to look like?

I'm trying to make it so that when you look at it from above, the treads are circles. Each tread is a flat, 3' diameter, 1 1/2" thick circular disk. If anyone knows how I can make that happen (or if you have more questions about my design) please let me know. Thanks!

How is this stair held up? Do you have something you are going off of? You can create a half circle tread as I have attached, but I am not sure on how to make a whole 3' diameter tread. You would have to get creative with railings or in-place components to achieve this I believe.

As I suspected - The previous link is still an answer. The only chage is how you create the tread family. IKn your case, it is an extrusion or an extrusion plus a sweep in a plan view. << (Depends on the riser profile)

@teafoe5:
The stair is held up by a single steel carriage (a 6" by 7" rectangular steel tube). It has no stringers or risers. The stair you attached is very similar to what I want, but I need the treads to be the full 3' circle because that way when you look at them in section, the treads extend further underneath the other stairs. i attached a screenshot of a SketchUp model I built of the stair. (There are railings on both sides but I hid one so you could see what the stair looks like).
@WWHub:
I am not really familiar with using families, but if that thread has enough info on how to do what I need to do, then I'll definitely take a closer look at it.

The thread that WWHub pointed out will be useful to you and should answer your questions. Check out the video that he posted.
