I've downloaded a couple of corner guard families but it seems like the piece only snaps one leg of it to the face of the wall, and not the corner. What ends up happening is that, instead of rotating to accommodate the corner configuration, the corner guard now shows up embedded into the wall.  Please see attached jpg) Is there a way to create an "axis hosted" or "line hosted" family, so that it will snap to the corner of the wall? Thanks in advance!

You can do what WWHub said, and/or change the insertion point ref planes so the are where you want them to be.

TKennedy,
Are you suggesting ref planes at the corner of every wall... or 2 ref planes at ea corner? .... really?

Hi WWHub and TKennedy! Thanks for your suggestions.
I've changed the insertion point to where I want it to be, so now the origin is in the correct spot when I insert it, but how do I add a "flipper" or something that will rotate it into the correct orientation?

Edit the family to insert the flipper.

Hi,
Thanks for the family. Would you mind saving it to R2013? It seems like it was created by a newer version. Thanks!
