I created a mass plane to generate a wall by face. In the same project, I created some masses to represent actual piers (because they have irregular stepping geometry). Is there a way to show some masses (i.e. the piers) and hide other mass (the plane used to generate the wall)?

Why use a mass for the piers when you could have used an in-place family in the right category?

WWHub, for typical piers, I did use an in place family (generated from a column rft template). I used a mass for this because of the irreglar geometry at the top, pleas see the attached elevation view of the pier. Typical piers are extrusions of a plan profile, so I thought it was not appropriate for this particular application. Maybe there's a way to do this using the in-place family that I'm not aware of?
Also, is the massing tool not typically used for representing actual phyical elements?
