The vanity in which i'm trying to use shows up in plan as transparent im able to see the objects line work but can see the floor beneath. i have tried visiblity graphics, the objects material and editing the family but have been unable to find a sloution.

The problem is in your family, edit that vani. fam. and create a "Mask" region, load into project and your issue is solved.

I agree with Ty on most issues but a true 3D element here is better.  If the counter top is a real 3D component, check to see if it is visible in plan views and if not, turn it on.  It may not be and they might use symbolic lines instead - and they then should have used a masking region.

I have just recently run across this same problem with a desk we used in an office project. Now I know what to try to fix the problem.
