Anyone wondering how to make the grid to appear in the 3d view of the model at the floor level?

Are you thinking something like this (see attached). Not possible without a workaround.

Yeah, exactly like that. It is very simple: Just insert the acad file with the grid in the 1st floor without checking the "current view only" button. That's it.

Use 'link' cadfile instead of 'insert' and align the major x-y axis as your benchmark.
