my file doesn't open and pops up the error msg as "failed to open document". I dont have backup files.
Help from anyone would be good...

I don't think there is anything we can do. Why don't you have any backups?

I will add that if you don't have enough free space on your system, then the file will not open.
Use something like "CCleaner" (Free) to clean your temp files. This is a major source of problems.
